Jars of pasta sauce have been pulled from some supermarket shelves after pieces of glass were found inside.

Organico Realfoods is recalling Organic Alla Norma Sauce because the product may contain pieces of glass.

The company said it is taking precautions over batch code 140227 after one jar was reported to have glass in it.

The recall notice, issued via the Food Standards Agency (FSA), affects pack sizes of 350g with a best before of February 14, 2027.

Customers should return the jar to the store they purchased it in for a full refund.

Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product.

The company said in a statement: “We are recalling the above batch as a precaution following one jar reported containing glass. Please do not consume.

“Return to the retailer for a refund. lf the retailer does not accept returns, please contact for a refund.

“We apologise that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused.”
