The Princess Royal has returned home after days of hospital treatment for head injuries, following an incident involving a horse.
Princess Anne was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol following incident on Sunday evening at her Gatcombe Park home.
It is understood the Princess was walking in the estate in an area with horses when the incident occurred, with her suffering head injuries consistent with impact from a horse’s head or legs.
On Friday, Anne returned to her Gatcombe Park home following five days of treatment for minor head injuries and concussion.
It is understood she will remain at home for a period of rest and recuperation and will return to public duties when cleared by her medical team.
The Princess Royal’s husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, said in a statement: “I would like to extend my warmest thanks to all the team at Southmead Hospital for their care, expertise and kindness during my wife’s short stay.”
