The annual Mercury Prize award was also set to take place on Thursday night but organisers announced that “out of respect” the event had been axed.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with The Royal Family at this very difficult time.
“We will make an announcement regarding future arrangements as soon as we are able”.
Harry Styles, Sam Fender and Little Simz were among the acts in the running for the prestigious prize.
In the world of sport, play in the first round of the BMW PGA Championship was immediately suspended following the announcement.
Tournament organisers later announced that no play would take place on Friday, with the golf and practice facilities remaining closed.
“Further updates on the resumption of play will be provided in due course,” the DP World Tour said in a statement.
