Pop superstar Taylor Swift has been named the UK’s most streamed artist on Spotify for the third year in a row.
The 35-year-old topped the list in the streaming platform’s annual Wrapped statistics, with Drake named the UK’s second most-listened to artist, followed by Sabrina Carpenter in third, The Weeknd in fourth, and Billie Eilish in fifth.
It comes after a busy year for Swift who released her 12th studio album, The Life Of A Showgirl, became engaged to American football star Travis Kelce, and revealed in May that she had regained control over her back catalogue, after her record-breaking Eras Tour came to an end last year.
PA MediaDespite being the most listened-to artist, Swift failed to break into the UK’s top five most listened-to songs and albums of the year, with Alex Warren’s Ordinary being the most streamed song, and Short ‘N’ Sweet, released by Carpenter last year, the top album.
Swift also missed out on being the world’s most streamed artist, with Bad Bunny topping the table for a fourth non-consecutive year with almost 20 billion streams, while his LP Debi Tirar Mas Fotos was the most listened-to album worldwide.
The rest of the UK’s top five songs were That’s So True by Gracie Abrams in second, Messy by Lola Young in third, Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club in fourth, and Eilish’s Birds Of A Feather in fifth.
PA MediaThe top five albums in the UK were completed by You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1) by Alex Warren in second, KPop Demon Hunters by the KPop Demon Hunters Cast in third, Chappell Roan’s The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess in fourth, and So Close To What by Tate McRae in fifth.
