Tesco recalls free from meal kits amid allergen fears over undeclared soyaiStock

A supermarket has pulled free from meal kits from shelves over allergy fears.

Tesco issued a ‘do not eat warning’ over its Tesco Free From Katsu Curry Meal Kit, with a best before date of December 12, 2025, and Tesco Free From Sweet & Sour Meal Kit, best before May 19, 2025.

The Food Standards Agency said the supermarket is recalling the meal kits because of undeclared soya, which is not mentioned on the label.

The products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya.

Common symptoms include a red raised rash, a tingling or itchy feeling in the mouth, swelling of the lips, face or eyes, stomach pain or vomiting.

Anyone who purchased the meal kits can return them to their nearest Tesco store for a full refund.

A Tesco statement read: “If you have purchased the affected product, please do not eat it.

“Instead, return it to any Tesco store for a full refund.”
