Waitrose has apologised to customers after recalling a supplement due to the presence of stones and pieces of metal.
The upmarket retailer issued the urgent notice via the Food Standards Agency (FSA) on Friday over its ZOE Daily 30+ 7 Day product.
It is a plant-based, wholefood supplement that contains over 30 plants, including nuts, seeds, whole grains, and legumes.
The supplement is high in fibre, a source of plant protein and omega-3s and can be sprinkled on pasta, eggs, hummus, grilled meat, and yoghurt.
Waitrose said batch codes 24266A, 24267A, 24270A of its 112.5g pack size dated best before September 30, 2025 are affected.
The possible presence of small stones and small pieces of metal makes the product unsafe to eat.
Waitrose also had to recall its Chinese Takeaway Bag for 2 this week because it contains molluscs, which are not mentioned on the label – posing an allergy risk to consumers.
A Waitrose statement read: “We apologise that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused.
“If you have bought the above product, do not eat it.
“Instead return it to your local Waitrose branch for a full refund.
“For more information contact Waitrose Customer Care 0800 188 884, Option 4.”
