A driver who died after his car crashed into a wall in Fife has been named by police.

Kieran Dudgeon, 22, suffered fatal injuries as his Ford Focus ploughed into a wall and caught fire on Saturday night.

He was pronounced dead at the scene on the B914 between Kelty and Saline, at its junction with the B915, at around 7.30pm.

The road was closed for more than seven hours as officers carried out a full crash investigation.

In a statement, his family said: “We are heartbroken at the loss of Kieran, he was a well loved, son, grandson, brother, partner and a deeply loving father to his two children, aged one and three. Our family will never be the same and we will miss him every single day.”

Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses that could provide additional information to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

Sergeant Colin Morrison from the Road Policing Unit said: “At this time our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of this crash and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time who saw the Ford Focus driving on the B914 to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward as this information will assist our investigation.”

Anyone with information should contact officers through 101 quoting reference number 3343 of May 14.
