A body found in Ayrshire has been confirmed as that of a dad who has been missing since before Christmas.
Jackson Mason, 31, was reported missing from his home in Fenwick, East Ayrshire, on Saturday, December 19, 2020.
He had last been seen around 4pm walking near the Fenwick Hotel by the M77 motorway.
Police discovered the body at West Tannacrieff, near Fenwick, on Sunday at around 12.10pm.
His next of kin has been made aware.
Mr Mason’s death is being treated as unexplained as police wait for the outcome of a post-mortem examination.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
Chief Inspector Nathan Calderwood, East Ayrshire area commander, said: “Our thoughts are with Jackson’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“I would take the opportunity to thank the local community for their support throughout this enquiry.”
