A road has been closed after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Falkirk.

Officers said the A872 Nethermains Road in Denny was closed at the junction with Castlerankine Road from around 3.05pm on Thursday following the incident.

Emergency services remain at the scene and drivers are being urged to avoid the area.

It is unknown if anyone has been injured as a result of the incident.

Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
