Rangers have been fined by UEFA over the behaviour of their supporters, while Celtic have also been disciplined for the late kick-off of a Europa League match.

The governing body have taken action over incidents at Europa League matches in the last two months and the Glasgow clubs were both cited for breaking UEFA rules.

Rangers have been fined for three separate offences. A €10,000 fine had been imposed after a fan “invaded the field of play ” during the last 32 match against Braga at Ibrox, with a separate fine of €5,250 brought for the throwing of fireworks during the same game.

Action has also been taken over the last 16 match against Leverkusen at Ibrox on March 12. The club were charged over “the throwing of objects” from the crowd and another fine of €5,250 was levied.

Celtic were called to account for their last 32 match against Copenhagen in Denmark being late in starting, with manager Neil Lennon being held responsible.

The club and manager were charged separately with being late for kick-off. Celtic were fined €15,000 with Lennon being warned about his conduct.

The Scottish champions also received a formal warning over the return leg in Glasgow. Celtic were told that they had broken rules on the “oversized manufacturer identification” on headgear worn by a member of the squad.

All fines have to be paid to the governing body within 90 days.
