Steve Clarke has named his Scotland squad for the upcoming games against Cyprus and England.

The National Team will take on the Cypriots in their latest qualifier for the 2024 European Championships on Friday, September 8, before taking on the Auld Enemy in the 150th anniversary of the first ever international match at Hampden four days later.

Nine players from the English Premier League have been called up with six from the Scottish Premiership and one each from the Italian Serie A and Spanish La Liga.

Newcastle United youngster Elliot Anderson is the only new face in the 25-man squad with Southampton forward Che Adams returning after missing the last games through injury.

Lewis Ferguson, who scored for Serie A side Bologna in their 1-1 draw with Juventus on Sunday, has been included as has Kieran Tierney who has just completed a loan move to La Liga side Real Sociedad.

Scotland currently sit top of Group A after four wins from their opening four games, including a 2-0 Hampden win over Spain and a 2-1 victory away to Norway.

A win in Cyprus next week will leave them in a great position to reach the tournament being held in Germany next summer.

Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn returns alongside fellow keepers Zander Clark and Liam Kelly.

Tierney is joined in defence by Jack Hendry, who is now playing in Saudi Arabia, Watford’s former Hibs centre-half Ryan Porteous and Rangers star John Souttar.

An English Premier League contingent makes up the back-line Brentford’s Aaron Hickey, Everton’s Nathan Patterson and Nottingham Forest’s Scott McKenna joining captain Andy Robertson from Liverpool.

Celtic captain Callum McGregor is again included in the midfield options beside Rangers’ Ryan Jack, Stuart Armstrong, from Southampton, Kenny McLean from Norwich and Ferguson.

Further Premier League options include Anderson, Aston Villa skipper John McGinn, Manchester United star Scott McTominay and Brighton’s Billy Gilmour.

Up top Adams is joined by QPR’s Lyndon Dykes, Millwall’s Kevin Nisbet, Ryan Christie from Bournemouth and Hearts captain Lawrence Shankland.
