Body found by police investigating mum’s disappearance

A woman’s body has been found by police investigating the disappearance of a missing mum.

Elaine McArthur has not been seen since Saturday 18 April.

The 48-year-old was last spotted outside a shop on the city’s Crewe Road North around 12.40pm.

Police officers investigating her disappearnace said the body of a woman was found in Granton View around 11.15am on Saturday, 25 April, 2020.

Ms McArthur’s family have been made aware of the discovery.

Her son, Harry, paid tribute to his mother on Saturday evening, posting a message on Twitter thanking people for their support.

Formal identification is yet to take place and a post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

The death is being treated as unexplained.
