A man has been charged after drugs worth £13,000 were uncovered by police during a raid in Edinburgh.

Officers raided the property on Merchiston Avenue in the city on Friday following information provided by the public.

Along with the drugs, thousands of pounds in cash was seized by police.

A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with being concerned in the supply of drugs.

He is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.

Community sergeant Jen Macgregor said: “We’d like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter. This is great example of proactive police work supported by members of our communities who do not tolerate the illegal sale of drugs on our streets and nor do we.”
