Armed police locked down a street in Inverness on Monday following reports of a man with a weapon.
Emergency services were called to reports of an individual with a blunt weapon causing a disturbance in the Smithton Park area at around 11.35am.
A 39-year-old man was traced to a nearby flat and firearms officers were deployed.
Images from the scene show a large number of police vehicles blocking off the street near the property.

The man was later arrested in connection with the incident. An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.35am on Monday, February 24, we were called to a report of a man with a blunt weapon causing a disturbance on Smithton Park, Inverness.
“Officers attended and the 39-year-old man was traced to a flat nearby. He has been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.”
