A man who died after his car was involved in a crash with a lorry on the A90 has been named.
Alistair Arthur was the driver of a blue Volkswagen T-roc when it collided with a blue and white DAF HGV at the Tipperty junction, near Ellon, at around 5.20pm last Tuesday.
Emergency services attended and the 74-year-old, from the Aberdeen area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two women, aged 87 and 81, were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries following the crash.
They were released at a later date.
Police enquires into the incident are ongoing and witnesses have been asked to come forward.
Sergeant Chris Smith of the Northeast road policing unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Arthur.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision and I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to the collision that has not already spoken to officers, to come forward.”
