A man remains in a serious condition in hospital after being found injured outside a busy shopping centre in Aberdeen.
The 48-year-old was taken to the city’s Royal Infirmary following a reported incident on St Nicholas Street on Saturday evening.
Emergency personnel including crews from the Scottish Ambulance Service rushed to the scene near the Bon Accord Centre shortly after 5pm.
A 26-year-old man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear in court on Monday.
Officers have since launched an appeal for further information.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5pm on Saturday, August 28, officers were called after a 48-year-old man was seriously injured on St Nicholas Street, Aberdeen. He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he remains in a serious condition.
“A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear in Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, August 29.
“Anyone with any information, who has not yet spoken to police, should contact us on 101, quoting incident number 2550 of Saturday, August 28.
