Kilmarnock have signed Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper Kieran O’Hara.

The 27-year-old joins the Rugby Park club from English League Two club Colchester United on a one-year-deal.

The former Manchester United youth player, who helped the club win the Under-21 Premier League, has played for a string of clubs south of the border including Morecambe, Macclesfield Town and Burton Albion.

He ended an eight-year stay at Old Trafford in 2020 without making a competitive appearance as he competed with the likes on David De Gea for a first team place.

O’Hara has two-full caps for Ireland, and nine for the Under 21s, and was last in the first team squad when he was on the bench for their 1-1 draw with Qatar in 2021.

His one start for the national team came in a 3-1 win over New Zealand in 2019 with a sub appearance against Bulgaria in the same year.

Kilmarnock confirmed the move on Tuesday, saying: “We’re pleased to have completed the signing of Republic of Ireland international Kieran Oā€™Hara, who joins on a one-year deal.”
