A bomb squad has locked down a coastal hamlet following the discovery of unexploded ordnance on an East Lothian beach.
Emergency services were called to Canty Bay in North Berwick shortly before 1.30pm on Saturday.
Officers have taped off the area and an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) unit are in attendance.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 1.25pm on Saturday, March 21, police were called to a report of unexploded ordnance found on the beach near North Berwick links.
“Officers are at the scene and the area has been cordoned off as a precaution.
“EOD are in attendance.”
