A major search is under way for an elderly man who went missing from his Aberdeen home.
Donald Chalmers, 88, was last seen on Sunday evening in the Westhill area.
Officers believe he may have been headed for Aberdeen’s beach.
Coastguard crews joined police in the search on Monday and officers are asking anyone who may have seen Mr Chalmers to come forward.
The pensioner is described as white, 5ft5 and of slim build. He is bald and wears glasses.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for 88-year-old Donald Chalmers who is missing from his home in Aberdeen.
“Searches and enquiries are ongoing to find him and officers are appealing to anyone with information that may assist in tracing Donald to contact 101 with reference 3145 of January 2.”
