A body has been found in Stirling during the search for a missing man from Australia who had recently moved to Scotland.

Cain Poulsen, originally from Brisbane but living in Renfrewshire, was reported missing on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old was last seen on Callander Main Street during a visit to Bracklinn Falls.

Police confirmed that a body, which is still be formally identified, was found on Wednesday.

Paying tribute on Facebook, his sister Alexis said: “It’s with heavy hearts that we have been told of the passing of our beloved little brother, Cain.

“To each and every person that shared our posts, gathered info, messaged us and did everything they could to find Cain, we cannot thank you enough.

“Funeral information will be shared once arrangements have been made to bring him home.

“You left this world too soon, but you’ll never leave our hearts, lil bro.”

A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed the find.

He said: “At around 10am on Wednesday, the body of a man was found in the Bracklinn area of Callander.

“Formal identification has still to take place, however the family of 24-year-old Cain Poulsen who had been reported missing from Callander, have been informed.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact cause of death which is not being treated as suspicious.”
