A social care worker in East Ayrshire has been removed from the register after she ‘kicked’ a service user’s dog.
Traceyanne Tennant reportedly struck the Kilmarnock service user’s pet and lifted it by the neck on April 19 2023.
She also allegedly grabbed the dog’s mouth, preventing it from being opened.
During the same day, Tennant allowed another individual to enter the service user’s home without their permission.
The ex-social worker also reportedly misled her employer regarding the amount of time she spent with the service user.
The Scottish Social Services Council said that Tennant “acted dishonestly and failed to maintain professional
boundaries”.
The report read: “This is behaviour which is difficult to remediate because of the values that it demonstrates. It is accepted the physical abuse was towards a dog and not a person, however as the motivation behind this
behaviour is unknown there is still a substantial risk present.
“For these reasons, there are serious ongoing public protection concerns and the behaviour is likely to be repeated.”
