A road in East Dunbartonshire has been closed due to a man began throwing “furniture” and “boiling water” from the balcony of his flat.

Emergency services were called to Main Street Lennoxtown following a report of a disturbance shortly before 12pm on Monday April 1.

A number of police vehicles, an ambulance and fire engine were dispatched to the scene as emergency services responded to the incident.

The road has been closed and the public are being asked to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.50am on Monday, April 1, 2024, police were called to the Main Street area of Lennoxtown, following a report of a disturbance. 

“Emergency services remain at the scene and the road is currently closed. The public are asked to avoid the area.”
