Emergency services have launched a search after a man reportedly fell into the pools on the Isle of Skye on Thursday afternoon.

A search has been launched after a man reportedly fell into Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye.

Emergency services, including Skye Mountain Rescue Teams, were called to the scene near Carbost when the alarm was raised at around 3pm on Thursday.

The road is closed at the junction of Carbost/Glenbrittle and the car park for the Fairy Pools shut to the public while searches remain ongoing.

The Fairy Pools, a series of waterfalls and pools on the River Brittle, are a popular tourist attraction.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 3pm on Thursday we received a report of a man falling into the water at the Fairy Pools near Carbost, on Skye.

“Emergency services are in attendance and searches are ongoing to trace him. There is currently no public access to the area.”
