Aberdeen looking to build on momentum and grab another victory at Livingston

Aberdeen will be looking to build on their momentum gathered from their last two games when they take on Premiership strugglers Livingston at the weekend.

The Dons have recorded back-to-back victories over Motherwell in their last two games to gain a six point gap from the relegation playoff zone.

And while caretaker boss Peter Leven admits they will have to match the enthusiasm and work-rate of David Martindale’s side who are fighting for their top-flight lives, he insists his team will look to take control of the game at Almondvale on Saturday.

Speaking to the media on Friday, he said: “Every game is big now, last week was massive as well, to get that three points and give us a little bit of a gap from Ross County.

“They (Livi) are fighting for their lives, but we have to go and match their enthusiasm, their work rate and bring our stamp to the game.

“It will be a tough game, I know they are down at the bottom of the table but they will be fighting, they have got good players and a few coming back from injury this weekend. So they are a real threat, physicality, but for us it is all about what we do.

“If we can bring our own game and build on that momentum from the last two victories then hopefully we can get the three points.”

Leven took over from Neil Warnock on an interim basis as the hunt for a new full-time Aberdeen manager continues.

And he revealed it is just a case of taking it a day at a time until he is told otherwise.

He said: “I was asked at the start of the week if I would take this game and I said that was no problem, so I’m just taking it game by game and day by day.”
