Hunt for driver after three left in hospital following two-car crash

Officers are searching for the driver of a blue hatchback vehicle after a two-car crash in Blantyre on June 20.

A hunt has been launched for a driver after a two-car crash in South Lanarkshire left three people in hospital.

Emergency services were called to Blantyre Farm Road at around 11pm on Tuesday, June 20, after a blue Volkswagen Touran and a blue hatchback vehicle collided.

The driver of the Volkswagen and two passengers were taken to Hairmyers hospital for treatment.

Officers have launched an appeal for information after the driver of the hatchback vehicle failed to stop.

Constable Reece Sloan said “We are carrying out further enquiries to establish the full circumstances and trace the second vehicle.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time that may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

“If you witnessed the crash, have dash-cam footage or any information that could assist with our enquiries, please get in touch via 101, quoting incident number 4624 of June 20.”
