Man jailed for murder of 'deeply loved' man found dead in Fife house

A man has been jailed for the murder of a man whose body was discovered in a Fife house.

Henry White, 57, was discovered dead at a property on Erskine Wynd in Oakley, near Dunfermline just after 6am on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Officers had been called to the scene following reports of a disturbance.

Christopher Brown was arrested and charged in connection with the death the following day.

The 36-year-old was found guilty of murder at the High Court in Edinburgh on October 25, 2024.

Brown was sentenced to a minimum of 13 years behind bars at the High Court in Inverness on Thursday, November 21.

Detective Inspector Kieran Marsh said: “Brown will now face the consequences of his despicable actions.

“I hope today’s result brings some comfort to Henry’s family and friends who have shown great strength throughout this investigation and trial. Our thoughts remain with them as they continue to come to terms with what happened to him.

“Thankfully crimes like these are extremely rare in our communities. When such incidents take place, we will use all resources necessary to carry out thorough, rigorous inquiries to ensure we track down those responsible to bring them to justice as swiftly as possible.

“I would like to thank all officers involved for their dedication and commitment throughout the investigation as well as those members of the public who assisted with our enquiries.”

In a previous statement, the family of Mr White said: “Henry was a deeply loved and respected member of our family. He will be much missed.
