A man has been charged after cocaine worth £10,000 was seized in a house raid in North Lanarkshire.

Officers armed with a warrant searched a house in Townhead Street, Kilsyth, on Tuesday.

During the raid, police recovered a quantity of cocaine with an estimated street value of £10,000.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the discovery.

He was released on an undertaking to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court at a later date.

The force is urging anyone with information regarding drugs in their community to come forward.

Detective chief inspector Susie Cairns said: “This seizure demonstrates our ongoing commitment to removing illegal drugs from the streets of Lanarkshire.

“Information from the public is vital and I would urge anyone who has information or concerns about drugs in their community to contact Police Scotland on 101.

“Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
